The Hays Cheer Program is fortunate to have so many hard-working parents, guardians, and volunteers. The booster club provides the additional help to make each cheerleader's experience fulfilling and worthwhile. Wherever your skills or talents are, the booster club is always looking for those who want to help provide every cheerleader with a quality high school cheerleading experience. COMMITTEES We have several different committees set up within the Booster Club. Each committee is designed to help support the team in a variety of ways: *Spirit Committee A spirit committee works closely with Spirit Committee Chair by supporting the cheer teamcreating an energetic and positive atmosphere at games, events, and rallies. Their duties typically include:
Team Support – Making locker decorations, snacks, or goodie bags for athletes before big games.
Homecoming- Help and create making mums for cheerleaders
Encourage parent engagement during games and pep rallies
*Banquet Committee This committee is responsible for the End of Year Banquet. This committee will secure a venue, determine the banquet theme and needed decorations, decide on gifts to provide for each cheer program participant (including mascots, managers, etc), decide what food to be served, and any other related details in planning and hosting the banquet (within the budgeted amount), including set up/clean up.
*Merchandise Committee This committee is responsible for deciding what merchandise to sell for the year at all the sporting events at Hays High School. All merchandise will be pre-approved by the Board and sold at football games, volleyball games, basketball games, and track meets.
*Scholarship Committee A high school cheer scholarship committee is typically responsible for awarding financial assistance to student-athletes based on merit, need, or a combination of both. Their duties may include:
Setting Eligibility Criteria – Defining academic, athletic, and character requirements for applicants.
*Senior Committee Typically focuses on organizing events, gifts, and recognition for senior cheerleaders throughout their final season. Their responsibilities can include:
Organizing a special event/game night to recognize senior cheerleaders.
Coordinating gifts, flowers, banners, or personalized posters.
Selecting and purchasing senior gifts (jackets, blankets, photo albums, etc.).
Help plan the end-of-year banquet with special recognition for seniors.
Organizing a final send-off event or small gathering
